waterbourne stain application

Hi,


My general has ordered ext. cedar siding and redwood siding and they have had it pressure treated with FireX. Waterbourne stain is advised.

My problem is that semi-transparent stain, unless it has plenty of pigment, needs to be recoated every 2-3 years and I'm suggesting to them that we add a little pigment, knowing that some of the wood grain will disappear.

I'm looking for a happy compromise here. Any help out there?
